I was in a deep slumber when along came a princess to my bedside.
She lay down on top of me and kissed me sweetly on the lips.
And then I woke up and sent her back downstairs again to play with her dolls.
So it goes. This past Saturday I went with the family to an indoor bazaar. It was fun. It felt like winter because of a fresh layer of snow, maybe five or six inches deep. They bought some jewelry and then we had some lunch. During the evening was a Lords day at the Kanert’s. They served up lasagna. I was happy. Lots of good conversation and definitely good people as well. Following was the 25th anniversary party for the community. It was pretty much an intense prayer meeting followed by open bar until about midnight. I got home around two.
I woke up the next morning at five so that I could make a 7 AM Mass in Munich before going to Neuschwanstein. InWEnt paid again. It was really really great to jabber with English speaking people again. InWEnt treated us to a freezing cold castle tour (not interesting, but hey, the castle has my host family’s seal above the gate!) followed by an absolutely fantastic visit in a warm café.
I had a big piece of wild berry cake with tons of whipped cream and an amaretto cappuccino on the side. You should have seen me. I was floating somewhere between here and heaven. I think that was the highlight of the day.
Then two other Americans and I decided to go for nachos and a beer back in Munich. On the way this strange lady on the train grabbed my friend’s hand and started asking him all this weird stuff. The door was closing on her but she pushed it open again and held on tight. Eventually he pretty much pushed her out the door and at the same time I felt a strange tugging on my back. I turned around and behind me there was this fat slob hiding in the corner pretending to look innocent. The guy was freaking picking my pocket. Lucky for me I have instincts like a wild boar and saw through his game. I checked my pockets and stared him down until he finally split at the next stop. I had always heard that pickpockets work in pairs, one to distract, and one to steal from the wild boar, but now I can say that it’s true. We went to the bar. Had nachos. I got to tell them about God and why they should believe. It was really chill.
Monday night I built a seven foot high snowman, who is now lying on his back with a dagger in his stomach.
